Mount Description

Try saying 'Sea-side Steed' twenty-five times after a few drinks from the Cracked Flagon!

Sea-side Steed Description

My first reaction when I saw this was "hurrah, it's a horse with boots!". But let's go a tad deeper, shall we?

LOTRO have opted for a wonderfully-simple horse or pony that's pure white except for the bottom halves of its legs, which are black. Or exceedingly dark grey.

The Bridle

The bridle is also simple, with the Umbari signature shapes of a diamond then an oval "gem" on its forehead. The head-piece actually features two loose loops of material at different points down the horse's neck. This is in the same design as the rest of the barding.

The Barding/Caparison

Its barding or caparison is mostly of the blue material found on the Sea-side Kite. This, in white, features shapes depicting water flow, or waves. The material of the sea-side steed's outfit is seemed on the top in gold thread, and in luxurious golden tassles at the bottom.

How to Get the Sea-side Steed

You can only acquire this lovely horse during the LOTRO Midsummer Festival. You need exchange either 25 × Midsummer Tokens Midsummer Tokens or 70 × Mithril Coins Mithril Coin to acquire it.

How to Get a War-steed with Boots

For the nearest match to this effect:

  1. Open the LOTRO Store in-game
  2. Navigate to Cosmetics → War-steed Cosmetics → Appearances
  3. Purchase the "Bay War-steed" (LOTRO Points 595 unless on sale)
  4. In your bags, right click the "Bay War-steed" item
  5. In the Mounted Combat UI, scroll down to "Hide" and drag the "Bay War-steed" to the Hide slot.

The "socks" are always black, to bear in mind that darker hide colours will...erm, hide the colour more.
