LOTRO Spring Festival 2025 Guide by FibroJedi - all the quests and up-to-date rewards for Springtide 2025!

The LOTRO Spring Festival 2025 is the first major event of the year, following a relatively quiet couple of months. It’s time to put Winter behind us and embrace the sun of Spring. Well, and the rain, obviously!

You can take part in:

  • Daily event quests in various regions of Middle-Earth, for Spring Leaves Spring Leaves.
  • Take in the Bees Big Business Seasonal Instance with Grimbeorn. You earn Festivity Tokens Festivity Tokens for this, to exchange for token-specific rewards.
  • Even enjoy a relaxing journey to collect flowers and get a unique mount and war-steed cosmetics.

Here’s my guide to the event quests, mounts, cosmetics and tons more you can earn for those Spring Leaves Spring Leaves!

When is LOTRO Spring Festival 2025?

The 2025 Spring Festival took place from 13th March (10am /servertime) to the 8th April (3am /servertime) 2025.

This was extended by a week following on from people feeling like they had lost time due to changing LOTRO Servers to the new 64-Bit ones.

What are the dates of Spring Festival Encore?

  • From: 13th November 2025 (10AM EST, 3PM GMT)
  • To: 1st December 2025 (3AM EST, 8AM GMT)

Where Are Spring Festival Quests? Where are the Wrappers?

There are two ‘main’ hubs of festival event: Bree-land Festival Grounds and Duillond in Ered Luin. The main one in The Shire is the Bullroarer’s Challenge – aka Drunken-Fence-Walking! At Thorin’s Hall, you can find the Inn League/Ale Association NPCs.

How to Pick Up The “A Taste of Spring” Daily

Don’t make the mistake I often do on day 1! The Map you’re given transports you to outside the Hedge Maze. You need to backtrack to the Spring Festival Rewards Vendor to pick up “A Taste of Spring”.

Get this – and all the other wrappers – from Sergeant Tom before you turn in any actual festival quests so that they all count!

If you want information about the Spring Festival Wrappers, you can find them in the tabs below.

Participate in 10 Spring Festival Activities. This includes successfully completing a Horse Race/Trial, individual quests on the Borne Aloft in Springtime story arc and for completing the Bees Big Business Seasonal Instance and the Beautiful Bouquet side-quest.

Rewards:

  • Legendary Item XP Legendary Item XP (if Applicable)
  • Spring Leaves Spring Leaves ×3

A Bustling Bloom

One of the event’s “wrapper” quests, likely with multiple ‘stages’. The first one just requires you to complete four times.

Rewards:

Rewards change for each stage you complete.

Splendor Of Spring

The Splendor of Spring is the wrapper-of-wrappers! You gain rewards for completing a number of times.

The first stage requires you to just complete A Bustling Bloom once.

Rewards:

Completing 10 Quests Quickly

Normal Quests

Apart from doing Stomp-a-Shrew only, here’s the combination I use to hit the 10. Others are possible.

  1. Pretty Parched Party-Goers
  2. A Fool’s Errand
  3. Hedge Maze: Terrible Tweens
  4. Hedge Maze: A Laugh at the Lost
  5. Hedge Maze: Misplaced Companions
  6. Hedge Maze: The Chicken Dash (if it’s up) or Disorientation
  7. The Green Challenge (if you’re an Inn-League Member) or Bree Horse Race
  8. Head to Duillond (via Celondim), then:
    A Proper Festival
  9. Boot Demand, Boot Supply
  10. How The Shire Shoos Shrews or Stomp-a-Shrew (if it’s up) or
Travel to Michel Delving, then: Shire Horse Race

Bees Big Business

Inside the Bees Big Business you can access two additional quests:

  1. Bees Big Business –Daily (6×Spring Leaves)
  2. Beautiful Bouquet –Optional (6×Spring Leaves)

Both of these count towards the daily 10 also. And where a normal Spring Fest quest grants 2×Spring Leaves, these give you 6×Spring Leaves!

That’s Not Quick!

You’re right! But clearing the instance, the daily and the optional side-quest does count for 2/10 for your wrapper. (The instance itself doesn’t, sadly).

Play the Festival Your Way!

As you can see from this list, there’s some flexibility to add variety into the mix, even if you wanted to do the daily 10 quickly. I hope this is helpful!

Spring Dandy Title Deed

The title Title Spring Dandy is available for completing the “Spring is Dandy” Deed. You need to complete:

  1. Bree-land Festival Run (Horse Track)
  2. The Shire Festival Run (Horse Track)
  3. Bullroarer’s Challenge (Advanced) – 21 Second Timer
  4. A Fool’s Errand
  5. Hedge Maze: A Laugh At the Lost
  6. Hedge Maze: Misplaced Companions
  7. Stomp-a-Shrew for the Leisurely Gardener
  8. Stomp-a-Shrew for the Practised Gardener
  9. The Stomp-a-Shrew Challenge

Bree-land Festival Quests

In Bree-land, you can find Festival Quests in the Festival Grounds, the Hedge Maze and near the Boar Fountain in Bree-town.

Pretty-Parched Party-Goers

Arn Bulrush is your quest-giver. He is near the stage in the Bree-land Festival Grounds. This quick quest sees you retrieving 3 bottles of Spring Wine and delivering them to 3 different tables.

You just make sure people keep thirst at bay with wine…which makes you thirsty! Hmm.

Quest Rewards:

  • Spring Leaves Spring Leaves: × 2
  • Virtue XP Virtue XP: 50
  • Legendary Item XP Legendary Item XP (If Applicable)

Borne Aloft in Springtime

Arn Bulrush has a storyline you can follow. I won’t post any spoilers of the story itself, in case you’re new to this LOTRO Event!

A quirky plot which starts with some uppity herbalists from Gondor, who recruit you to pick plants from the Festival Grounds. This leads to an Elf talking about a sacred flower he thought had died out for ever. You’ll need to help the herbalists first, before speaking to Haerandel and hearing his story.

A final journey to near Woodhall in the Shire is needed to pass a message to a group of Elves preparing to depart for the Undying West.

Borne Aloft in Spring-Time does not take long to run, but give yourself time to enjoy the story!

The cooldown is over 2 months so view this as a once-yearly questline.

Quest Rewards

18 × Spring Leaves

The Bree-land Hedge Maze

This little beauty is great for people like me who get lost in real life! There are a few quests that take place in the Hedge Maze.

However you can only run one of them at a time in most cases. I haven’t done detailed walk-throughs as you can find them in the Hedge Maze Maps section.

Repeatable Quests here are:

Terrible Tweens

Catch 4 Tweens in the maze. They are running riot and must be caught! When another player catches one, you have to wait for the cheeky hobbit to re-spawn. This is on a pretty quick timer, so have a bit of patience, please. The Hedgemaze is “layered” so that you only share it with a certain number of players at any one time.

Grants a Spring Festival BoxExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab). The box always has at leastSpring Leaves in it

Misplaced Companions

Find some wandering Elves in the maze. These follow similar walking patterns so you can find them relatively easily.

A Laugh at the Lost

Place signposts in various locations to misdirect lost maze-wanderers.

The Chicken Dash (at the top of the hour)

Retrieve 2 stray chickens from the maze, before they escape! Tell me more →

Disorientation

Find and drink Dire Brews in the Maze!

@SWForce4EU said in :

See how many are in the maze before you accept Dire Beer quest. If there are a lot…wait until there aren’t!

A Fool’s Errand

Once you unlock it, is repeatable daily. To unlock it, you will first need to pass:

  • The Cloven Track (5 minute time limit)
  • A Speedy Errand (3 minute time limit)

Here’s my video of the route through the maze from start to finish:

Spring Festival Hedge Maze Maps

I thought I was going to have to draw this map myself but, as usual, lotro-wiki comes into its own and saves the day!

There are two maps below, but the most recent one can be found hereExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab). It contains the most recent quests and their locations within the maze.

Nearest Item/NPC

Although, in a maze, knowing the direct route to an item is kinda moot, knowing roughly where it is can be really helpful.

Check your LOTRO Settings and keybinds for targeting the “nearest item/object” and “nearest NPC”.

The Chicken Dash

This Hedge Maze quest deserved a little more, to help you maximise the chance of finding those two chickens!

  • The “Event Broadcast” which says The chickens are running through the Hedge Maze begins a 15 minute timer. This seems to occur at the top of each hour.
  • To know what time that happened, turn on Enable Timestamps on Chat option.
  • You may need 5+ minutes if the Maze is busy with players. So if the 15 minutes is nearly up, you would be better waiting until the next reset.
  • Use the F10 Key which will find the nearest NPC. This may select a Wandering Elf, or Terrible Tween, but may still help you locate a chicken!

The Green Challenge (Inn League)

If you’re a member of the Inn League, then Tob Sandyman outside the Hedge Maze has a quest for you. Though he appears too…erm, tipsy to know it!

This quest is straightforward, provided you know the route out of the Hedge Maze. And can do it with blurred vision!

Find an “Inn League Artifact”

This is the Sinister Keg in the middle of the Maze.

Inn League Artifact in the Hedge Maze is a Sinister Keg

Get Out of the Maze in 3 Minutes

Provided you have done A Fool’s Errand a few times, finding the exit is easy. Even drunk, and staggering!

Green Challenge Rewards

Spring Fest Quests at Duillond

In the Festival Garden at Duillond, there are a few repeatable quests. So here they are outlined for you!

A Proper Festival

An Elf called Forlad is so offended by the Shrew-Stomping he nearly didn’t come. Instead of killing creatures of nature, he proposes that you pick flowers near Duillond then plant them in the Festival Gardens!

Quest Reward

  • Spring Leaves × 2

How The Shire Shoos Shrews

Bodo Burrows is convinced that the Hobbits have a better grasp of Shrew Control than the Elves. The Elf he sends you to speak to…doesn’t think much of Bodo! But she sends you off to the Shire to learn how to get rid of Shrews.

All the Hobbits are marked on your map, so here are the “tips” you receive:

Nibs Cotton

Nibs uses his cat to catch Shrews. At least if he can get the feline to wake up!

Wald Sandson

Talk Very Loudly about Winter being just around the corner!

Gaffer Gamgee

Trap them or…chuck an apple at them! But aim at the head if an apple is your preferred weapon!

Boot Demand, Boot Supply

Shrew Stomping can only happen if people have enough boots to humanely concuss them! Santmereth, in the Duillon Festival Gardens sends you to help Deluraw with his supplies so he can make more boots. For this you’ll need:

4 × Cherry-wood Branches

4 × Elf-Made Twine

Flax and Cherry-Wood Branches are found not far from the Festival Grounds. The Twine however can be picked up at Celondim Docks.

Why Do I have to Collect So Much?

If this is the first time your character has done the Duillond Spring Festival quests, then your numbers will be different.

You likely have to find 8 of Each Type. I think this is done to help you become familiar with where the items can be found.

Once your character has completed the initial quest, the daily repeatable Boot Demand, Boot Supply becomes available. You may even be able to do it on the same day as it’s a different quest.

Stomp-a-Shrew at the Festival Gardens in Duillond

Enjoy a visit to the picturesque region of Ered Luin and enter the Festival Gardens. It looks like a cave entrance though – let’s just call it “Elven Mystery” or something!

Here you can participate in Stomp-A-Shrew and the flowerpots here are part of the A Proper Festival quest. This is a great piece of fun, although it is a popular event so you have some competition for your Shrew Stomping! (Click/Tap image to enlarge)

Difficulty Levels and Large Shrews

There are 3 difficulty levels with scaling rewards, along with a separate “Stomp Huge Shrew with a Huge Boot” thing. I kinda suck at this event so I won’t try to give you advice!

However this is the cheapest way to acquire the Large Shrew pet.

Other Spring Festival Activities Available

Other activities which I personally don’t do because some are timed (I’m not very good with timed quests!) are:

  • Pie-Eating (Bree-land): though I am reliably informed this can also be available some in-game mornings all year around.
  • Dancing: The Party Tree (The Shire), Bree-land Festival Grounds, Thorin’s Hall In and Duillond. These run every 20 minutes and, if I remember right, there are two different dances to earn per location.
  • Large Shrew Stomping (Duillond): you have to use Huge Boots to stomp the Huge Shrew before other players! You then have a chance of winning the Large Shrew pet, rather than saving up Spring Leaves to get it.
  • Bullroarer’s Brew (Brockenborings): two, non-repeatable quests given by Sigismond North-Took. Make a special clover-brew in honour of Bullroarer himself! (Quests: Bullroarer’s BrewExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab), Paying Your RespectsExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab))
  • Bullroarer’s Challenge (Brockenborings): aka Drunken Fence Walking! Yeah, me and “sense of balance” don’t get along…the challenge is repeatable. Lucky you, I guess?
  • Horse Races (Bree-land and the Shire): Make it around the race track before the time runs out. Avoid the mud and water! These do count towards the wrapper.

All-in-all there are a lot of Festival Activities to earn those much-needed Spring Leaves Spring Leaves! Pick and choose what you want to do!

A Fistful of Flowers

LOTRO Avery Crabapple - the NPC whose story involves the quest 'A Fistful of Flowers'.

In Bree-Town Central Square you can find Avery Crabapple.

He starts a questline (which is rewarded with Spring Leaves), where he sends you flower-picking in Bree-land, Ered Luin and The Shire. These are flowers for someone special. Once you get to the end of the story, you can obtain a repeatable quest – A Fistful of Flowers.

How a Fistful of Flowers Works

In that quest you travel round picking flowers from Festival-activated flowerbeds. These flowers are barter items which you exchange with Gretlang Mugwart for items (and the Steed of the Jester) that can only be purchased using these barter flowers!

A Fistful of Flowers Quest requires you pick loads of flowers from patches like this one

LOTRO-Wiki has a great walk-throughExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab) and notes for where to find each kind of flower.

A Fistful of Flowers Rewards

You barter the flowers from this repeatable quest with Gredlan MugwortExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab). He is stood right next to Avery.

Here is what he has to offer:

Spring Lissuin War-Steed

As A Fistful of Flowers is repeatable, you can save the flowers for items that “cost” more flowers.

Other Rewards

These boxes contain different items (with a little overlap) but you don’t choose that item. See it as a surprise box! It doesn’t take long to pick the small amount of flowers needed per box either.

See the Wiki links above for the details of what can drop from each colour.

Bee’s Big Business – Seasonal Instance

Grimbeorn would like your help to keep his giant bees safe as they pollinate flowers. Your task is to defend them from goats (a lot of them, I mean, crazy number of goats).

This Instance awards 5×Festivity Tokens Festivity Tokens, but also has two side-quests, each worth 6×Spring Leaves. As these count for the daily 10 quests, they are worth doing.

Bee’s Big Business

You can find my separate guide to the Seasonal instance here: Bee’s Big Business.

Where are the Festival Vendors?

Thanks to those that requested I add this information to the guide, so here you go. I’ll double-check the non-Bree vendors for the currencies they accept during this year’s event.

Festivity Tokens Cosmetics

As Festivity Tokens Festivity Tokens can be earned during Spring Festival, LOTRO have a bunch of cosmetics as a reward for running the Bees Big Business Seasonal Instance (multiple times). Here you go:

Naruhel’s Attire

While this is just one item, I’ve included the hooded and hoodless version together in one post.

Musical Instruments

There are two different fiddles available at this event. If you’re part of a LOTRO band or just want a new cosmetic weapon to spite your foes with your music, then go for it!

Cosmetic Pets

In the 2025 Spring Festival, LOTRO brought in this cute and fun double-pet: a hedgehog pulling a tiny cart that carries a very eager-looking white hare!

Whether you purchase these for Spring Leaves, or Mithril Coin Mithril Coins, you receive a stack of 6 dyes. Here is an example of each colour. But bear in mind, different items of gear and cosmetics dye differently. Ensure you Ctrl+Left Click to preview the item then select your dye from the drop-down, to preview the dye before you buy.

/fishslap Emote (13 Spring Leaves)

At this event, you can pick up the /fishslap emote, hurrah! Just be careful to purchase the Cold Fish and not the ‘Slapper Fish’. Confusing I know, but Slapper Fish is a cosmetic weapon.

and here’s the emote. If you don’t have a target, it says that you’re slapping yourself with a cold fish!

Cooking Recipes

If you have chosen Cook from the LOTRO crafting professions there are a number of recipes you can obtain for Spring Leaves.

Consumables

As with many events, you can also acquire consumable items, some of which have deeds and/or permanent abilities you can complete.

Essence Items

As with some other festivals in the LOTRO Events Schedule / Calendar, you can acquire:

  • Essence Reclamation Scroll Essence Reclamation Scroll: 90 × Spring Leaves

Amazeling Title

If you complete all the Hedge Maze Quests and The Green Challenge, you unlock the hidden deed and title: Title Amazeling!

TL;DR The 2025 LOTRO Spring Festival Round-up

While you could grind the Hedge Maze for tokens, the LOTRO Spring Festival is best enjoyed in the most relaxed way possible. There is a shedton of quests, plus the Seasonal Instance. And there are way more quests than you need for the wrapper – so why not mix it up a bit in the week to keep it fresh?

With a wide range of new cosmetics, the cute new Hedgehog-pulled-cart pet and the gorgeous new goat mount, there’s plenty to aim for even in the rewards for 2025. Did you get everything you wanted in previous years? Grab them while you can.

I hope this guide to this festival in the LOTRO Events Schedule was useful to you. However you choose to play it – have fun in Middle-Earth. And do whatever you can to help others enjoy their time too.
