Festivity Tokens in LOTRO, What are they, How Do I Get Festivity Tokens? Where Can I Spend Them?

Festivity Tokens in LOTRO are a special kind of barter currency. Unlike other event-specific coinage, Festivity Tokens can be earned during various LOTRO Events and spent in different festivals than where they were earned. Let’s take a closer look.

How Many Festivity Tokens Do I Have?

You can check how many you already have by opening up your wallet. This can be accessed from around the minimap or using the menu system.

Filter the list of currencies by typing “festivity” and you’ll have your answer. These have a different icon to other events, if you compare:
  • Festivity Tokens Festivity Tokens
  • Spring Leaves Spring Leaves
  • Anniversary Tokens Anniversary Tokens
  • Farmers Faire Tokens Farmers Faire
  • Yule Festival Token Yule Festival Tokens

What About My Other Characters?

Of course, you could log every single one of them and check. But a much better way is to use one of the Inventory LOTRO Plugins. While you will still need to log every character initially to load their data, after that you can access their details from any other character. This not only applies for Festivity Tokens, but any other kind of currency stored in your wallet too.

Token Limit

For reasons known only to SSG, but probably easily guessable, each character can only hold a maximum of 40 Festivity Tokens at any one time. On the plus side, no one reward will be greater than 40 Festivity Tokens either!

By limiting it, you're more likely to spend the tokens, meaning you need to rerun the Seasonal Instances for more of them. It also means you're more likely to engage in Seasonal Instances from other events too. That's my guess, anyway.

How Can I Get Festivity Tokens?

When I said earlier that they are a special kind of currency, I meant it. Most in-game events have tokens you earn by completing quests and wrappers during that specific festival. Festivity Tokens on the other hand are earned by completing Seasonal Instances during those events, these are:

Bees Big Business

LOTRO Bees Big Business - Spring Festival Instance for Festivity TokensGuide Grimbeorn’s Giant Bees on a pollinating journey in Lossarnach, but beware of the goats. Because there are so many of them. Seriously, after running Bees Big Business a few times, you’ll be having dreams about goats after this! Not good ones. But you can earn Festivity Tokens during the LOTRO Spring Festival this way, so yay!

A Flurry of Fireworks

LOTRO A Flurry of Fireworks - Anniversary Seasonal Instance Guide and WalkthroughA Flurry of Fireworks is a Seasonal Instance introduced during the 2022 LOTRO Anniversary Event. Assist Gandalf in placing fireworks up the hill overlooking Bree-Town, but don’t let your helpers take too long in getting set up! No one likes an angry Wizard!

The Perfect Picnic

LOTRO The Perfect Picnic Seasonal InstanceThe Perfect Picnic puts you in charge of safely escorting a pony carrying your picnic to the ideal spot to eat said feast. But the heat will be an issue (even if it’s raining) and even when you’ve got to the end, you have to fend off Hungry Hobbits to have any chance of eating some yourself! This Seasonal Instance is available during the LOTRO Farmers Faire.

Battle at Frostbluff

LOTRO Battle at Frostbluff earns Festivity Tokens during Yule FestivalThis Seasonal Instance takes place during the LOTRO Yule Festival. In Battle at Frostbluff, you aim to reclaim snow-forts built by the children of Winter-home that have been overrun by Winter Grims.

Where Do I Spend Festivity Tokens?

For most events, there is a specialist Festivity Token Vendor, such as Verbena pictured above/to the left. In the case of the LOTRO Anniversary, they can be found at the same vendors as the Anniversary Tokens rewards. You just need to select the Seasonal Skirmish Rewards category to view Festivity Tokens.

Festivity Token Rewards

The items available for Festivity Tokens Festivity Tokens vary from event-to-event. However, it’s a similar theme to the main rewards: mounts, outfit cosmetics, cosmetic weapons/held items, consumables, pets and housing decorations. Just note that not all festivals will have the same groups of rewards. I’ve put a sample of the rewards for each relevant festival in the section below.

What about Housing Decorations?

I mentioned that earlier and didn’t put it in the sections above. That’s because I don’t showcase decorations on fibrojedi.me.uk. Instead I send you lovely people off to Déco du Milieu’s specialist LOTRO housing website and library.

Search For Festivity Tokens

I’ve done a search hereExternal Link (Opens in New Window/Tab) for “festivity+tokens” as they don’t have a tag/category solely for Festivity Token housing decorations. I think the search results seem to flag up the correct ones.

Per Festival

The other way to check would be to browse the relevant festival landing page and then see which ones are for Festivity Tokens.

TL;DR – Earn Festivity Tokens in LOTRO for Unique Prizes!

The rewards you exchange Festivity Tokens Festivity Tokens for are unique to that currency. So, if you want them, you’ll need to run Seasonal Instances. But you can also “bank” the currency up for a future festival too as they can be spent in any event where Festivity Tokens can also be earned. As many have daily repeatables in them, add the Instance into completing your daily wrapper for some variety. But, above all, make sure you’re enjoying your play time during a LOTRO Festival!
